Jean-Michel Aulas on Peter Bosz’s future: “We hope to continue the adventure.”
Following Lyon’s 3-0 defeat to West Ham last night and subsequent elimination from the Europa League, club president Jean-Michel Aulas has spoken in a press conference about the future of the team’s manager, Peter Bosz, insinuating that there are no intentions to sack him at this point.
“We found a staff which corresponds with what we need at Lyon, with experience, a foreign culture that was demanded by many supporters. This has been a first year of getting to grips. The recruitment was perhaps not directly in relation with what Peter wanted. We intend to reflect on how to improve the squad, we will have the means to invest to respond to Peter’s aspirations. We hope to continue this adventure. The staff currently in place corresponds with what we wish.”
Lyon’s Director of Football, Vincent Ponsot, suggested however that considerations may only take place once the season is over. “We’ll take stock at the end of the season. There’s no lethargy here. If the objectives are not accomplished we’ll have to take conclusions from that. But there are seven matches left, we’re not throwing the towel in. We’ll take our lessons at the end of the season.”
