WATCH: UJ Seuteni stuns with GLORIOUS ‘Houdini’ offload against Exeter Chiefs

La Rochelle ran riot in the first half of their Champions Cup semi-final against Exeter Chiefs on Sunday, with UJ Seuteni setting up a brilliant try for Tawera Kerr-Barlow.

Seuteni scored La Rochelle’s second try of the game, swinging momentum comfortably into his side’s favour.

La Rochelle dominates Exeter

His try came from some wonderful soft hands from number eight Gregory Alldritt, who would also score in a dominant half. Alldritt shifted the ball to Seuteni, who fended off the attempted tackle Sean O’Brien before speeding over the line.

That score put Ronan O’Gara’s side up 14-7 after 24 minutes, but they were far from done.

Alldritt swivelled out of an attempted tackle from scrum-half Will Becconsall at the back of a powerful scrum to dot down in the 32nd minute.

The Top 14 outfit had one try left in them before the end of the half, and again it was Seuteni at the heart of the score.

Prop Reda Wardi sniped from the back of a ruck, making the initial break, and Seuteni was quick to follow, scooping up the ball.

He shrugged off the first attempted tackle before Jannes Kirsten wrapped him up.

The centre then brilliantly offloaded the ball in contact to hooker Pierre Bourgarit who drew in the last defender and sent Kerr-Barlow through.

The conversion gave La Rochelle a 26-7 half-time lead, with Seuteni reveiving plenty of praise for his magical offload on Twitter.

“Wow! That Seuteni offload was just stunning. Exeter’s defence is very very aggressive and it’s not yet working. La Rochelle warming into this game and again, a sin bin which really hurts the sin binned team.” tweeted Sam Larner.

Meanwhile, EK Rugby likened to Hungarian-American escape artist Harry Houdini, tweeting: “The Houdini from Seuteni! How did he get that offload away.”

“Sublime from Seuteni!!! What an offload… Kerr-Barlow goes over for the fourth try.” added RugbyInsideLine.

“That was a disgusting offload! La Rochelle going Harlem Globetrotter.” noted another viewer.
