WGP – 8 sets in Yeakterinburg

Two games in Pool J in Uralochka’s hall ended with result 3-1. Russia after fight overcomes Italy and Thailand defeats Cuba also giving a set.

The game wasn’t as exciting as it seemed to be. In first two sets, firstly Russia and secondly Italy gained advantages at beginning of sets and later only expanding them. Since third set Russia started dominating and didn’t let Italy do their best. Italy struggled especially in reception and lacked second hard scoring hitter. Russia had opposite Nataliya Obmochaeva and Tatiana Kosheleva who played despite some problems with finger. In Italy except opposite Indre Sorokaite no one could score as good as “Russian towers”.

Thailand had some problems with young and inexperienced players what shows us result. The game wasn’t on really high level, there were many errors. Many Thai players had 10 points and more, key player was outside hitter, Sittirak Onuma. Main Cuban weapon was outside hitter Yoana Palacio.
