Freedman was at the Groupama Stadium during Lyon’s 1-1 draw against Nice last Friday, ahead of a potential move to the Ligue 1 side. As sporting director at Crystal Palace, Freedman is already a part of Eagle Football, owned by prospective Lyon buyer Textor.

Moody took charge of the recent transfer window at OGC Nice and was responsible for signatures such as Ross Barkley, Aaron Ramsey, Kasper Schmeichel, Gaëtan Laborde and Sofiane Diop. At the end of the window, the club’s president said that they would like to keep Moody involved in the project, although that wouldn’t be in the sporting director role, which was recently assumed by Florent Ghisolfi, previously at RC Lens.

According to L’Équipe, American businessman Textor has passed a financial examination in front of France’s financial watchdog, the DNCG. Textor’s purchase should therefore be completed soon.
