Vancouver Whitecaps pull out of Kolbeinn Sigthorsson deal; Nantes looking at Lys Mousset loan deal

20 Minutes report, as other American outlets have, that MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps have pulled out of a deal to sign Icelandic international striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson from Nantes.

Les Canaris still want to rid of the player and his hefty salary before Thursday’s deadline.

As they seek to replace Emiliano Sala, Nantes have rejected a number of options proposed to them by intermediaries and agents including Valère Germain (Marseille) and Facundo Ferreyra (Benfica) – both viewed as too expensive, with manager Vahid Halilhodzic particularly against signing the OM man.

Nantes are however continuing to assess the viability of a deal for Bournemouth’s 22-year-old French forward Lys Mousset. Any agreement at this stage would likely be a loan.
