Cantwell easily wins reelection in Washington Senate race

Cantwell defeated GOP candidate Susan Hutchison a former broadcast journalist who lead the state GOP party for five years, who she outspent by more than $7 million.
Though public polling was scarce in the race, Cantwell was expected to easily cruise to reelection against Hutchison, a conservative who backed President TrumpDonald John TrumpSenate advances public lands bill in late-night vote Warren, Democrats urge Trump to back down from veto threat over changing Confederate-named bases Esper orders ‘After Action Review’ of National Guard’s role in protests MORE in 2016, in the deep blue state.
A poll released in October showed Cantwell leading by 14 percentage points, and handicappers rated the race as solidly Democratic.
