Freddie Prinze Jr. Says He Pitched a Kofi Kingston Gauntlet Match Ten Years Ago
Kofi Kingston’s big gauntlet match was something that Freddie Prinze Jr. says he pitched over a decade ago. Prinze, who worked for WWE’s creative team from 2008 to 2009 and again from 2010 to 2012, noted on Twitter that he pitched the match at WWE Headquarters during his first run “to deaf ears.”
Kingston is set to face Randy Orton, Sheamus, Cesaro, Rowan and Samoa Joe in a gauntlet match on next week’s Smackdown, with a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 35 if he wins.
Pitched the Kofi gauntlet at Titan Tower over a decade ago to deaf ears. This journey he’s on is real. Kofi tells a hell of a story in the ring and I hope you watch this chapter. https://t.co/vaepRiEqdn
