Opening PSG offer for Hugo Ekitike falls short of Reims’ valuation

Foot Mercato are reporting that PSG have submitted an opening, “verbal” offer for Stade de Reims forward Hugo Ekitike (20). However, the bid falls comfortably short of the club’s valuation and €19m short of Newcastle’s offer for the France U20 international.

Ekitike “dreams” of playing for PSG. The player didn’t give the green light on a move to Newcastle despite the club’s agreeing on a deal thought to amount to €46m including bonuses.

PSG are now making concrete advancements on their interest in Ekitike, who scored 10 Ligue 1 goals last season, making him the top scorer in the top 5 European leagues under the age of 20. However, the Parisian side’s verbal offer, which amounts to €27m plus bonuses falls short of Stade de Reims’ valuation, who are seeking an offer closer to Newcastle’s bid for the player.

Discussions are continuing. The club are intent on considerably bolstering their attacking line. Robert Lewandowski (33) remains a target that they “dream” of buying, whilst they are hoping to partner the Polish international with Sassuolo’s Gianluigi Scamacca (23).
