Jordie Barrett won it late on

That is what the visitors did as Jordie Barrett went over for a try at the death that broke Wallabies hearts at Marvel Stadium in a dramatic finish.

New Zealand scored five tries on the day with Samisoni Taukei’aho picking up a brace while Richie Mo’unga, Will Jordan and Barrett also crossed.

Fly-half Mo’unga added four conversions and two penalties to end with a 19-point haul as he once again impressed in the black number 10 jersey.

Andrew Kellaway (2), Rob Valetini and Pete Samu scored tries for Australia. Bernard Foley added four conversions and two penalties, with replacement White nailing a long-range penalty that looked to have won the game for Dave Rennie’s outfit late on.

Four points clear at summit

The win means New Zealand retain the Bledisloe Cup for the 20th straight year and go into the last round one step closer to the tournament silverware.

Ian Foster’s team are now four points clear of the Wallabies on the Rugby Championship table, with Argentina and South Africa playing on Saturday.
