All Blacks: Beauden Barrett and Brodie Retallick on bench as unchanged starting XV named to face Argentina

The All Blacks have named an unchanged starting line-up for their Rugby Championship rematch with Argentina at FMG Stadium on Saturday.

Head coach Ian Foster has kept faith with the XV that went down to Los Pumas in Christchurch last weekend as he looks for a response from his charges.

Four alterations do take place on the bench, however, as Brodie Retallick and Beauden Barrett come in for Tupou Vaa’i and Stephen Perofeta respectively.

There’s also call-ups for hooker Dane Coles and back-row Dalton Papali’i, who have replaced Codie Taylor and Akira Ioane in this weekend’s matchday 23.

Experienced duo back

Retallick and Barrett add 201 Test caps of experience between them, while Barrett is the most capped All Black against Argentina with 16 appearances.

“We are obviously looking to build parts of our game and this week is another chance to do that,” New Zealand head coach Foster told their website.

“This year’s Lipovitan-D Rugby Championship is extremely tight and that makes this weekend’s Test an exciting opportunity.

“As a group, this has been a week of refining areas where we know we can be better. It has been a good preparation in Hamilton so far and the hard work will need to continue so that we get a performance everyone can be proud of.”
