Sunderland make an attempt to hijack AS Monaco’s move for Djibril Sidibé
Premier League side Sunderland are making a considerable effort to attempt to hijack AS Monaco’s move from Lille full-back Djibril Sidibé.
AS Monaco and Lille had agreed a fee worth €15m plus bonuses for the right-back, but, according to France Football, the North East side have in recent hours stated their intention to trump AS Monaco’s offer.

Lille are now expected to give Sunderland about 24 hours to turn that talk into an official offer.
In any case, it appears that Sidibé is now set on a move to AS Monaco and Champions League football and any turnaround in this situation would be surprising to say the very least.
