Marseille will allow Lassana Diarra to leave for a reasonable price this summer
According to our colleagues at RMC, Ligue 1 side Marseille have a gentleman’s agreement with defensive midfielder Lassana Diarra which indicates that the club will not stand in the player’s way in terms of leaving the club this summer for a reasonable price.
According to the report, Vincent Labrune agreed not to demand a high fee this summer for the 31 year old French international in return for Diarra agreeing to cut his salary by two-thirds for this season and agreeing that should the TAS decide to find Lokomotiv Moscow’s claim of €10m for wrongful termination on the part of Lassana Diarra to be valid, then Diarra will not ask Marseille to pay any of that sum.
However, if Lokomotiv Moscow do win the case, then Diarra’s next club might have to bear the brunt of the cost and that would naturally also bring down the amount in terms of a transfer fee that OM could conceivably receive for Diarra.
