The singer stopped by Catfé in Vancouver on Tuesday evening, according to the café’s Twitter account. She enjoyed playing with Larry, a gray cat at the store. The café was established to allow customers to have refreshments in the company of cats waiting for adoption.

When Adele showed up at the café, barista Leona Morrison told the Vancouver Sun she did not realize who the singer was and initially told her Catfé was full because there were already a number of other customers and a birthday party.

“My co-worker was about to tell her that she looked like Adele, when she told us that she is Adele, and she asked if she could come in, if even for a few minutes. We said … OK,” Morrison told the Vancouver Sun.

The cats seemed to appreciate the attention, and the birthday party of seven 12-year-old girls loved Adele’s visit. As for Larry the cat, it turns out he’s just as popular as Adele was in the café. He was adopted by a new family, the Vancouver Sun reported, and was expected to be picked up on Thursday.
