Couple Hacked To Death In Chennai Over Inter-Caste Marriage. Is This The New India Everyone Is Talking About?
We are moving towards a New India that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeps talking about. It is 2019 and our country has progressed a great deal but there are several incidents that continue to impede our progress. In a horrific incident, a couple who had recently got married against the wishes of their parents, were murdered by the girl’s father near Vilathikulam in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu.
The victims have been identified as T Solairaja, 23, of Kulathur village, and his wife, A Jothi alias Pechiammal. They were workers in a salt company. Police arrested Jothi’s father, Alagar. The couple belonged to two different subsects of the Scheduled Caste community, a report in the Times of India said.
