Erling Haaland: Red Bull Salzburg starlet ‘boards plane’ to Manchester as United close in on red-hot striker
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made no secret of his admiration for the forward, who has netted a staggering 28 goals in 22 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg in all competitions this season.
The Red Devils, among a host of several top European clubs, are keen on signing the 19-year-old in January – and it looks as though the Premier League club are winning the race, with Norwegian newspaper Stavanger Aftenbladet reporting that Haaland will touch down at Manchester airport at 10.15am this morning.
Haaland played under fellow Norwegian Solskjaer at Molde before moving on to Salzburg and recently shared a picture of himself signing a United shirt to fuel the rumours of an imminent move to United.
His father, the former Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Manchester City player, Alf-Inge Haaland, was reportedly with him on the flight.
