Everton vs Arsenal confirmed teams: Lacazette and Pepe on the bench while Ozil left out of squad

The match, which is live on talkSPORT, is the last game in caretaker charge for Freddie Ljungberg before Mikel Arteta takes over as permanent boss.

Shortly before kick-off, Everton announced Carlo Ancelotti would be their new manager.

Ljungberg made several changes to the team that was beaten 3-0 by Man City last weekend.

Sokratis, Sead Kolasinac, Mesut Ozil, Matteo Guendouzi and Nicolas Pepe were all left out of the starting XI with David Luiz, Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, Granit Xhaka and Bukayo Saka all coming into the team.

Ozil’s absence is a notable following the row about his comments about China this week. Ljungberg said the midfielder was injured but would not be in the squad even if he was fit.

Arteta was named as Gunners manager on Friday but he will be likely watching from the stands while Ljungberg takes control of the team for the final time.

It is also Duncan Ferguson’s last game as Everton interim boss following the sacking of Marco Silva.

Michael Keane, Seamus Coleman, Leighton Baines and Bernard all drop to the bench.
