Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta confirms meeting with Eddie Nketiah over next move after ending Leeds United loan spell

The 20-year-old spent the first half of the campaign with Leeds, but it was confirmed on New Year’s Day that he would be cutting short his stay at the Championship club.

Nketiah made 19 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side and scored five goals but only two started two league matches.

Arsenal were unhappy with his lack of game time at Elland Road and he is now expected to be sent on loan to another Championship side.

Bristol City tried to sign the youngster in the summer but were pipped at the final hour by Leeds and remain interested in signing him.

They are likely to face competition, however, from Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday.

Speaking after Arsenal’s victory over Manchester United on Wednesday, manager Arteta said: “I’m having a meeting tomorrow with Edu and Raul to go through all the loans and situations.

“I know he’s coming tomorrow so I will speak to him and try to make the best decision for him.”
