Premier League table: talkSPORT Super Computer predicts where every club will finish in 2019/20 campaign *January update*
Jurgen Klopp’s men look unbeatable in their bid to claim a first league title in 30 years, failing to win on only on occasion in their opening 20 matches this season.
It’s beginning to feel like a matter of when rather than if, with the Reds 13 points clear of second-place Leicester having played one game less.
However, Liverpool will need no reminding they were top last Christmas, before Manchester City beat them to the title by a point.
And, of course, who could forget Newcastle’s famous implosion back in 1996?
Kevin Keegan’s Magpies topped the table in 1995/96 after an explosive start, before a run of five defeats in eight games saw them end the campaign four points behind champions Manchester United.
In fact, Weekend Sports Breakfast host Tony Cascarino remembers it all too well.
“I keep thinking, Newcastle were 10 points clear after 18 games in the 1995/96 season and it became 12 at the start of January,” he told talkSPORT.
“They had 42 points after 18 games, Liverpool now have 52 points after 18 games.
“There is only one way they will slip up this season, if they show relegation form.
“But they are a team on a winning run, they’ve won the Champions League and the Club World Cup, so I don’t think that’s going to happen.”
Luckily for you, talkSPORT’s famous Super Computer has been at work trying to figure out how the table will look come May.
