Vince’s Reaction to Bullet Club Invasion, Enzo/205 Live, Triple H
WWE was in for a surprise this week when the popular Bullet Club faction decided to invade the Staples Center during this week’s Raw show. The group was surrounded by fans and were adored as they pulled off an invasion similar to DX invading a WCW Nitro show during the Monday Night Wars. WWE has had trouble with the Bullet Club recently due to a negative relationship with group member Cody Rhodes, and they have sent cease and desist letters to the Young Bucks recently as well. It’s no surprise that Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that Vince McMahon “did not find it funny at all.” It’s safe to say that the faction won’t be intruding on anymore WWE shows in the future.
Enzo Amore shocked the wrestling world when he managed to snag the Cruiserweight Championship from Neville at No Mercy. On the following Raw, Enzo and Neville did a double turn, and Enzo was attacked by Neville, Braun Strowman, and the rest of the 205 Live cruiserweights. Some have theorized that putting the title on Enzo Amore was done as a way to get more fans to watch 205 Live since Enzo is still a popular character on Raw. 205 Live is regularly one of the least-watched shows on the WWE Network each week. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter says that Enzo increased viewership for 205 Live just for one week, but it has since reverted back to normal.
You never know who is going to show up in NXT or WWE these days, but one certainty is that Triple H will manage to get a photo of himself and his latest NXT signees. Triple H has posed with the likes of Hideo Itami, Finn Balor, Roderick Strong, Andrade “Cien” Almas, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly, and just about anyone else who signs with NXT in photos on social media. While Uproxx’s McMahonsplaining podcast was on the red carpet for the Mae Young Classic finale, Triple H provided an explanation for why he does this with each new NXT signee. Triple H gave this answer: “You know why I take pictures with everybody? Because I’m more famous. When I do that, and I take a picture, just on Twitter alone I got six million people that see it when I tap that picture. I make them something bigger, and that’s the attempt. When they don’t need it, I don’t stand next to them anymore.” He also added, “When I don’t need to step into that, I’m happy to step out of it. Trust me, when they come to get me to shoot that picture when I’m pointing at the guy, it is the last thing I possibly want to do at that moment in time, is go take that picture, but I have to do it.”
