WWE UK Championship Rechristened at NXT UK Tapings, Minor Visual Update

This has been a long time in the making, but WWE has finally rechristened the title belt formerly known as the WWE UK Championship, which will now more appropriately be known as the NXT UK Championship.

The belt was originally created for the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament in January 2017, won by inaugural title holder Tyler Bate, a full 17 months before the first set of NXT UK television tapings.

The subtle rebranding has been expected ever since, but for whatever reason the original name stood through the creation of NXT UK Tag Team Championship, the NXT UK Women’s Championship, and even the recent rechristening of WWE (now NXT) Cruiserweight Championship.

A segment was filmed with current champion WALTER and the rest of his Imperium faction at today’s NXT UK tapings in England. He was presented with a new belt, but other than the WWE-to-NXT UK logo change, the design remains the same.
