Colt Cabana Reportedly Suing CM Punk for Damages Stemming from Recent WWE/Chris Amann Trial

CM Punk and Colt Cabana scored a big victory earlier this year, coming up on the winning end of their defamation lawsuit filed by WWE doctor Chris Amann, but in the wake of one court case comes another.

According to a new report from the Chicago Sun Times, Cabana (real name: Scott Colton) has filed suit against Punk (Phillip Brooks) in Cook County Circuit Court for “breach of contract” and “fraud” over unpaid legal fees, stemming from their lengthy and expensive battle against Dr. Amann.

The suit alleges that Punk at one point promised to cover the legal costs for his former best friend, but at some point during the trial his tune must have changed, because that has not happened. Punk allegedly sent Cabana an email demanding that he pay half the unpaid legal fees – roughly $257,000 per person – and that he was “on his own” going forward.

Cabana is seeking “$200,000 in general damages, along with $1 million in punitive and exemplary damages”, calming that CM Punk “acted with fraud, malice and oppression toward Colton, with the deliberate intention of causing Colton harm.”
