ONE FALL: How the G1 Supercard Benefits ROH and NJPW While Sending a Message to WWE

Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that they will host the G1 Supercard on April 6, 2019 at Madison Square Garden. Fresh off the heels of a successful G1 Special in San Francisco this past weekend, NJPW has been gradually increasing their presence in US markets over the years. New Japan’s working relationship with American based Ring of Honor has pushed the door open for NJPW to grow their presence in the United States. While NJPW is a promotion capable of drawing huge crowds regularly, Ring of Honor’s average attendance figures are nowhere near NJPW’s nor their American counterparts in WWE. Ultimately, G1 Supercard next year will be a huge benefit to both promotions and will certainly help each company fix their primary concerns.
