PHOTO: Former Impact Wrestling World Champion Backstage at WWE Raw

WWE Raw star and Absolution leader Paige has revealed on Twitter that former Impact Wrestling World Champion James Storm is backstage at tonight’s WWE Raw taping in Atlanta.

It remains unknown why Storm is in Atlanta and backstage at Raw tonight, but it’s worth noting that when Storm finished up with Impact Wrestling back in November of last year, he did make it known publicly that his ultimate goal is to return to WWE. During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Storm had the following to say on his career goals:

“My ultimate goal is to go to WWE,” said Storm. “The WWE has such a grip on the world, it’s pretty amazing, and I believe I still have a lot to give.

“I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been. When I left Impact, I told people this isn’t my last stop, it’s just time for me to get on a new horse.”

Back in February, we reported that despite Storm’s public comments about a WWE return, at the time there had been no talk of Storm signing any kind of WWE deal. Storm previously worked for NXT for a short time back in 2015, before deciding to re-sign with Impact Wrestling for a bigger money contract.
