PSG executive Jean-Claude Blanc to leave for INEOS

L’Équipe report tonight that Paris Saint-Germain’s General Manager Jean-Claude Blanc is set to leave his position, and is set to take up a role with INEOS, the owners of Nice.

Blanc has been with PSG since the start of the Qatari ownership, having arrived in November of 2011 after making the move from Juventus. where he was CEO. Over the years, Blanc has played a key role in developing the club’s brand, even if his influence behind the scenes had waned of late.

The Frenchman is now expected to take charge of the sports branch of Jim Ratcliffe’s chemicals company, covering F1, cycling, athletics, on top of Les Aiglons. PSG were hoping to keep hold of Blanc, but he is now set on his decision. He declined to respond when L’Équipe reached out to him on Monday.

Although Blanc’s successor has not emerged, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been laying the groundwork in Doha, during the World Cup, for more backroom changes for the Ligue 1 champions. Last summer, sporting director Leonardo had left, replaced by a duo of Luís Campos and Antero Henrique, a former sporting director of the club himself.
