DeAndre Yedlin defends Steve Bruce and hits out at Newcastle’s critics who ‘want this club to fail’

The former Tottenham Hotspur capped his 101st appearance for the Magpies by scoring the equaliser against Bournemouth last Saturday.

Newcastle went on to win the game, their fourth victory of the season, to lift them up to 13th in the Premier League table.

After Steve Bruce was appointed as Rafael Benitez’s successor in the summer, many predicted a season of struggle for the Toon Army.

However, the Bournemouth victory at St James’ Park was their second in as many games and it seems Bruce and his side are keen to keep proving the doubters wrong.

Yedlin told NUFC.co.uk: “For whatever reason, this club’s in, I don’t want to say the spotlight, but I get the feeling that people want this club to fail, for some reason.
