Finn Balor Turns Heel, Helps the Undisputed Era Attack Johnny Gargano

Goodbye, annoyingly happy, constantly smiling “extraordinary man” Finn Balor – and good riddance! Hello again, dark and brooding, crown prince of the junior heavyweights, Bullet Club co-founding badass. Long man he reign!

The former Universal Champion made his highly anticipated return to the WWE NXT brand this Wednesday night in Orlando, live on the USA Network as was advertised, but things didn’t exactly go the way that fans anticipated.

Balor made his presence felt at the end of the night, following a triple threat match for the NXT North American title that saw Roderick Strong retain over Keith Lee and Donovan Dijakovic. He joined both Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano in starring down the whole of the Undisputed Era… before shocking the world, delivering a bicycle kick to the side of Johnny Wrestling’s head!

The keeper of the “Demon King” looked on, almost completely emotionless, as the group laid waste to Ciampa before eventually leaving the ring to send Gargano crashing over the barricade, taking on several “fans” – definitely not obvious plants from the Performance Center – with a running shotgun dropkick.

With WarGames looming at the next NXT Takeover special in Chicago next month, many believed it would once again see the Undisputed Era teaming up against a seemingly random collective of Superstars. That still may be the case, as Balor and Gargano seem set to battle at the event, but for now things are very much up in the air.
