AJ Styles Says It’s On WWE That Brock Lesnar Rarely Defends His Universal Title

WWE Champion AJ Styles spoke with Noelle Foley at San Diego Comic Con last week, and you can watch the entire interview in the above video. Below are some interview highlights.

On if he concerned with surpassing CM Punk’s WWE Title reign:

“Not really. I just have my sights set on retaining the Championship. The guys I’m going up against are freaking amazing, so Rusev, guys coming back, Randy Orton I guess he’s all better since he’s beating up Jeff Hardy. So there’s a lot of guys I’m gonna have to compete with, just hoping to retain.”

On Brock Lesnar rarely defending the Universal Title:

“I don’t care what anybody says, Brock Lesnar is what we call a draw. People they come to see Brock Lesnar and the fact that he hasn’t defended in a while, that’s on WWE. That’s on Kurt Angle and everybody else who has anything to do with it. I do what I do. I’m a fighting Champion like you said, I’m gonna defend my Championship, I’m gonna give the Championship the respect it deserves.”

Also during the interview, Styles talks facing Mick Foley, his dream opponents and more.
