Former NXT Star Nick Miller Returning To NJPW Following WWE Departure

It was announced in December that WWE had come to terms on the release of former NXT Superstar Nick Miller, also known as Mikey Nicholls, after he requested to depart from the company and return home to be with his family in Australia.

As reported just a few moments ago, New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that Nicholls would be returning to the promotion as a competitor in the 2019 New Japan Cup, which kicks off next month with the winner earning an opportunity to headline the G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden.

Nicholls is a seasoned veteran of more than 15 years, and outside of the WWE NXT brand is perhaps best known for his work in Pro Wrestling Noah, where he is a two-time GHC Tag Team Champion. He last competed in NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 9, where he and fellow Noah stars teamed up against Suzuki-Gun in an 8-man tag team match.
